Fall weight program has begun

September 2, 2009
By Brian Kelly of Fleming County High School

The Fleming County boys basketball team began their fall weight program a few weeks ago. All boys who are not participating in a fall school sport are working out from 3:30 to
5:00 Monday through Thursday. The Panthers are trying to increase overall strength, speed and agility, with an emphasis on injury prevention. "The benefits of weight training speek for themselves." Panther coach coach Brian Kelly said, "we are not only trying to get our boys stronger physically, but we are trying to create a mental toughness that will help us over come odds when things get tough." "The program will increase in intesity as we go, and we should be in good shape going into the official start of practice in October."
