Four Celina athletes to college!

Four Celina Track and Field /Cross-Country Athletes make college choices.

 

A quartet of Celina 2008 track and field athletes have earned athletic scholarships and will continue to demonstrate their track & field / cc ability at the collegiate level beginning with the 2008-09 school year. 

 

Joining former Celina graduates and current collegiate T & F / CC athletes Kristina Roth (adidas Raleigh, Celina class of 2002), Lyndi Springer-Woods (BGSU CC, Celina class of 2003), Jenna Schmitmeyer (Ball State T & F, Celina class of 2006), Ben Siebert (Bluffton T & F / CC, Celina class of 2006), Brad Siebert (Capital University T & F / CC, Celina class of 2006), and Lindsey Schmitmeyer (University of Findlay T & F, Celina class of 2007) will be...Eryn Langenkamp, Kelby Rosengarten, Melissa Roth, and Julie Snyder.

 

Eryn  will attend Youngstown State University and participate in Track and Field.  She will concentrate on the outdoor Heptathlon (100 hurdles, 200 dash, 800 run, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin), indoor Pentathlon (100 hurdles, 800 run, high jump, long jump, shot put) and pole vault at YSU.  The ‘Penguins' are an NCAA Division I university and a member of the Horizon Conference.  Eryn is Celina's school record holder in the 100-meter dash and pole vault.  She placed 6th in this season's State long jump event.

 

Kelby  will attend Hillsdale College and participate in Track and Field.  He will concentrate on the sprints and hurdles at HC.  The ‘Chargers' are an NCAA Division II college and a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  Kelby placed 8th in this year's State 300-meter hurdle event.

 

Melissa  will attend Malone College and participate in both Cross-Country and Track & Field.  She will run primarily distance races at MC.  The Pioneers are an NAIA college and a member of the American Mideast Conference (AMC).  Mel was a participant in the 2006 and 2007 State CC Championship meets.

 

Julie  will attend the University of Toledo and participate in Track and Field.  She will concentrate on the outdoor Heptathlon (100 hurdles, 200 dash, 800 run, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin), and indoor Pentathlon (100 hurdles, 800 run, high jump, long jump, shot put) while at UT.  The Rockets are an NCAA Division I university and member of the Mid American Conference (MAC).  Julie is Celina's school record holder in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump.  She participated in the State T & F meet all four years at CHS, placing 6th in the LJ (2007), 5th in the 300 hurdles (2008), 6th in the 100 hurdles (2008), and 7th in the LJ (2008).
